Re: Upgrading NCM - merged servers gotchas

Steven;

  You can still run NCM operations from your primary poller - aka "Core"    These items above apply only when you merge your NCM server back to your core AND select the distributed NCM to the pollers option.

Previously - if you ran separate NPM and NCM servers - they NCM server would do all the work.   IF all of your devices are configured to allow your config downloads, config change templates, and all the other functions you might use to originate from your NPM ("Core") server, then you can leave all the operations there, and it will work very similar in output.  You may however, have to copy the files and jobs as mentioned above, but only to your Core, not to the pollers - IF you run all NCM operations from there.

The only part that is being removed, and has been removed for some time now, is the ability to set up that split NPM and NCM server configuration.  Upgrades to 7.3 and higher will require NCM be merged back to your Core.  New installs will require you to set up a combined NPM/NCM server.
