I have a bizarre problem with NCM Trap Viewer and I have verified there is no other service running on the server for port 162. I have no rules set up so there is nothing filtering. We are not showing any traps coming in to the main Orion NPM/NCM server using the Trap Viewer. I have also verified in the SQL database there are no traps registering. To verify traps are actually arriving at the server on port 162, I have shut down the Orion NPM/NCM trap service and started up Engineers Tool Set Trap Receiver (which requires Microsoft Trap Service be turned on). I then see traps coming in, so I know the traps are arriving and are properly formatted. I then shut down the Engineers Tool Set trap receiver and the Microsoft snmp trap service and restart the Orion NPM/NCM trap service and still see nothing. I have run a repair on NPM and NCM and rerun the config wizard and still the same. I have had a ticket in to (709349) since last week. I put it in as high priority since the trap functionality is dead. I received and email from a Solarwinds support person on SUnday at 13:08 basically saying the usual which is to disable any other software listening on port 162, which I had already indicated in the ticket I had done (It would be nice if they actually read the entire ticket). I got no response when I responded to the email.
So I\m reaching out to the community to see if anyone else has any ideas
