This is the support case I opened with SolarWinds:
I need a report to be emailed out every morning showing the same data that is displayed via the "Overall Running vs. Startup Config Conflicts" chart/resource. I am currently unable to locate this report. I can click on the "Overall Running vs. Startup Config Conflicts" resource/chart, go into the results, and export to pdf, however, I cannot seem to find the same results, to be scheduled, via the report manager for NPM or NCM.
This is the response:
Update for Case #760843 - "Overall Running vs. Startup Config Conflicts Report"
Hello Will, Thank you for contacting SolarWinds Technical Support. My name is Andrew. I will be assisting you with this case. Unfortunately, NCM cannot currently do this. While you can see this chart on the NCM summary page, there is no NCM report we can create that will show this same information. I would be happy to submit this as a feature request to our development team. This way they will be made aware that customers would like to have the ability to generate this as a report and email it out. This way perhaps a future release of NCM might add this feature. Please let me know if this helps or if you require further assistance.
My brain is having a difficult time understanding why this is not a default/basic report. I can see the NCM pie chart/graph that tells me X% Conflict, Y% No Conflict, Z% Unknown. I can click on that pie chart and be taken into a list, detailing all of the devices within each category. So, if NCM has this data, and already organizes it in a report-like fashion/listing, then why can't I put it in a report?
Since SolarWinds Support is telling me that SolarWinds CANNOT provide a report for the data that is already presented in a report-like listing, I will ask ThwackNation for assistance.
If anyone can assist with this issue, I would be most grateful.
If it matters, this is what is needed:
I need to be able to schedule this report to be sent out, to our Network Engineers, every morning, for all devices in "conflict", from VendorA, VendorB, & VendorC.
I need to be able to schedule this report to be sent out, to our NOC Analysts, every morning, for all devices in "conflict", from VendorD & VendorE.
I need to be able to schedule this report to be sent out, to me, every morning, for all devices in "unknown", from Vendors*.
Thank you, in advance, for any help provided.
-Will
