We will be upgrading NPM from 10.6.1 --> 10.7 --> 11.5 in the next week.
I reviewed the NCM 7.3.2 Admin Guide about upgrading NCM but still don't have a good comfort level that the upgrade path what we plan to do is feasible.
Our NCM 7.2.2 runs as a standalone system right now. We plan to integrate NCM with NPM once we have completed the NPM 11.5 upgrade. NCM and NPM databases exist on the same SQL 2008 server. The question is, can we stop all services on NCM 7.2.2 server and install NCM 7.3 on NPM 11.5 system and still retain and migrate all NCM 7.2.2 historical data (device configs, device inventory and NCM configuration settings) or do we have to integrate/install NCM 7.2.2 first on the NPM system? Will NCM 7.3 prompt for the old 7.2.2 database to migrate?
