When we started with NCM I started out testing on some IDF switches and then moved up. I very quickly disabled the L3 lookups. We have multiple border routers that house full BGP tables so I knew that would crush it. We aren't looking to crawl our network although I do like the CDP crawl that the Network Atlas can do. It helps our NOC understand some of our fiber loops and which customers should be affected during maintenance. I let my scheduled inventory job run last night with the bridge table enabled and everything looks good so far.
