Downloading configs from HP ProCurve Switch 5412zl

Hi there,

I have 2 of the above switches, and i run a scheduled job to download the config on a nightly basis. A few weeks ago, 1 of them started erroring, and i can;t work out why. They are a pair, so both on the same firmware etc.

The error i see is Connection Refused.

From NCM i can  run a simple script successfully - so show version or something - so SSH to the device isnt an issue - nor are the credentials, as they are used on the other switch which is working correctly.

Looking at the trace it logs in OK, grabs the running config up to what seems to be the interface configs:

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] Fuzzy match detector start detecting prompt. String1=interfaced15 String2=switchname#

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] Save Command Output: interface D15

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] Process Line = < name "PORTNAME">

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] Fuzzy match detector start detecting prompt. String1=name"portname" String2=switchname#

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] Save Command Output: name "PORTNAME"

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] Process Line = <>

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] TimerTick: mstrData=<> State=3 - Connected to server - idle

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] Pending Disconnect = False

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] Config Prompt detector error: Invalid procedure call or argumentCurrentLine:

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] Fuzzy match detector start detecting prompt. String1= String2=switchname#

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] TimerTick: Just tick-tockin away. ..

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] TimerTick: mstrData=<> State=3 - Connected to server - idle

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] Pending Disconnect = False

[15/05/2015 11:03:21] Config Prompt detector error: Invalid procedure call or argumentCurrentLine:

So i think this is the issue - it then sits there for a minute or so longer (it logs the same as above in the trace) then disconnects and shows the 'connection refused' error

Any ideas?

This is using 'auto-detect' for the template, as is the working switch

Cheers

E
