I'm interested in learning how advanced NCM is in regards to testing conditions of configurations based on comparisons of info in a .csv or spreadsheet, reporting those conditions, and making changes to switches or routers based on the information contained within the .csv file.
For example:
* I have 1000 switches and routers, some of which have incorrect or missing "snmp-server location" information.
* I have a .csv file that contains the management IP addresses of these switches and routers AND the snmp-server location that should be populated on each switch and router.
Can NCM:
A. Match the IP address info between the switches & routers and the .csv file, and
B. Then compare the information in the .cvs file to the snmp-location field in the router & switch configurations and
C. Report the differences between the hardware and the .csv file's info, and
D. Use the snmp-location field information pulled from the .csv file to change those snmp-location fields on the switches and routers?
I know how to do this manually, on a per-device basis, with NCM. But it would be sweet if learned how to make NCM automate the process.
Swift Packets to you!
