Another thing that has me wondering, maybe a bit related. After importing a bunch of devices into NPM/NCM, I quickly made a compliance report to find those nodes that I needed to update my TACACS configuration on. So, I made a report and told it I wanted to include all Cisco devices of a specific type and the report was produced and basically said that there were a few out of compliance but not nearly as many as I thought.
However, after adding in a new credential to NCM and rerunning the compliance report, it all of a sudden had a bunch more devices?
So, the question I would have is, lets say if you had 500 devices in NCM of that device type, but NCM was only able to download 250 of the configs because it didn't have the right credentials for the other 250. What does the Compliance report show? I'm thinking it leaves those devices off the report. I think I'd like them on the report maybe with "No configs available" on it or something.
Now, lets say the device was in NPM but you didn't add it to NCM. I wouldn't expect those devices to be included in the report.
Thoughts? Can anyone confirm what NCM does if it doesn't have a configuration for a device that it otherwise would be including in a report if it did have a config?
