I appreciate the response, but I'm really just looking for some info on how the simple search works. I know how the regular expressions work.
It seems like an oversight that SolarWinds doesn't document how the simple search works. They allude to some sort of pattern matching in it by mentioning the * and ?, but then provide no other info. There are several other posts on Thwack with people trying to do matches with the simple search and having issues. I'd really like some documentation that says if you can do multiple lines with the simple search, or special characters, or whatever. What are the restrictions on it.. etc.. etc..
I can go open a ticket with SolarWinds support, but I was hoping someone from SolarWinds might answer here so that we could at least have the information on Thwack for others to see.
