My change was successful and here is how I accomplished this:
- In the Network Configuration Manager GUI on the server, select a device.
- Click the Configs menu item then Config Change Report.
- Click the button in the bottom right labeled Edit Comparison Criteria.
- Click Add Pattern, give it a title and a regular expression pattern that matches what you want to ignore. For my needs I simply added wpa-passphrase as the pattern with no other control characters, spaces, etc.
- Check the box for Enable this RegEx Pattern during Config Compares and click OK.
- Click Done.
To my surprise, I then went to edit the comparison criteria for our other Aruba controller but found the line already there, and again in my other devices as well - indicating to me that the change is persistent for all config comparisons. Therefore be careful that you do not exclude something that you actually desire from another device. If there is a way to have this exclusive to a particular device or type then I'm not aware of it. If you know of a way I'd appreciate a reply.
