Re: NCM data in "report writer"?

Let's try a first step and see if you can get it to display the node ID.  After we get that part complete I'll show you how to export it into Excel.

I'm using the latest version of NPM/NCM as of September 2015.  Let's see if we can get you to the view I'm using.

1. Go to Admin > Alerts & Reports and put a check in the box for IP Addresses on each Interface

2.  Click Edit Report to get to this window:

5.  Click on "Select Field", choose Node Name, then click Add Column:

6.  Use the drop down next to Node Name and select "is not empty."  Or, if you want to see a specific node or set of nodes, you could build a filter right here and populate it with a search parameter.  Then click "Add to Layout."

7.  Click Next; you should see a a table called IP Addresses (Custom Table) for IP Address:

8. If this shows what you want, click Next and finish it out.  If you're not seeing what you need, click Back and tweak your columns and filters until it fills your need.

9. Continue through the rest of the report modification by clicking Next and entering or changing the info in the port until you've gone through all the screens.

Now that you've got your report showing everything you wanted, here's how to get it into Excel:

1. From the home page of Orion NPM Summary, click on Reports on the top:

2.  In the far right search window, type in IP and click search.  The top entry should be the report you just modified:

3. Select the report by clicking in the radio button on the left and then click View Report:

4. The report should run and display.  When it's complete, click on Export to Excel and select where you want the report saved.

5.  Open the Excel spreadsheet version of the report.  It should have everything you need.

If this helped, it would be a sweet thing if you'd be so kind as to mark it as the Correct Answer, and also mark it Helpful.
