I have alerting setup for any type of power failure thru our syslog server. I pulled the logs from the devices and none of them listed any type of power failure occurring, but under "sh enviro" sure enough PS 1 failure. It was like the device never sent a syslog message about the PS failing. That is what is so strange about the whole thing. The devices in question were already monitored in the NPM. It was adding them to the NCM so we could pull configs,etc etc that this occurred. Approximately 3-5 minutes after adding them to the NCM the errors popped up on the NPM. From the events log in the NPM it seemed to be checking each of the devices again even though they were already nodes in the NPM. I will follow up with some caps from the NPM logs to see if that helps clarify the issue.
