We also use NPM and NCM. Love the ease of NCM for many reason. Once setup and pulling configs for all devices we have it email the difference from the last pulled config and email just the changes to us with who did the last change. You can get very specific with alerts off of NCM. We do not but you can configure it to alert if the IOS image or version has changed. For our NPM, we monitor all of our interfaces everywhere. We can notice at a glance where there may be a problem in the network. From that same page we can see Interfaces with high % usage, List of all vlans, Multicast groups and current events that are happen real time. I am pretty for sure that for us, "We Are Just Scratching The Surface" of the abilities of NPM and NCM.
