Re: Are you KIDDING ME.....!!!

I did. To me it was worthless. I am not saying that I am the most intelligent one here but nor am I am the dumbest. This is simply one's perception, "Is the glass half full or half empty". Either way it is half a glass of something. A 479 page guide is great for a product that is difficult to learn. Your going to need it. If the product was not difficult as was design to be logically intuitive then you would not need a 479 admin guide and hundreds of video article to figure it out.

To recap, I simply want to take a group that I have created in NCM, in this case a group of servers, and create an alert based on a value. In my case if the "C" volume goes below 5% free space on any one of the servers in that group send me an alert. Super simple. I have included a screen shot (see PRGT_GROUP1.JPG) of PRTG that show 3 objects being select from various servers, in the case the "C" drive. This took me a matter of a minute to setup and I did not even have to go to a separate pane or log into a server (SAM) to create this. every object in PRTG is context sensitive.

I can right click an object or sensor (elements in SWI) and makes changes on the fly or even add more sensors to an object. Also in the next screenshot (see PRGT_GROUP2.JPG) you can a quick overview of your entire environment, again always in a single pane of glass. I can make any type of change to a given sensor (see right context menu) in either pane.

Again, none of this required that I read anything to figure out. Not say that more complex configuration such a dependencies did not require some reading (a quick Google search), it did but I had it configured in minutes. Again super easy. Now I can get back to doing my job and now have to spend days on setting something up.
