Hello.
Using baselines to keep an eye on changes to the configuration is still a working feature of the latest NCM version. Here is an example from my lab where I promoted one config to be the baseline. The system found and displayed it correctly that there is a mismatch in the config lines and hence my widget "baseline vs config conflicts" shows 100% conflict as I only have this 1 device.
