Re: Using inbuilt TFTP/SFTP server in solarwinds

I know this is an old post but I thought I would add my 2 cents and see if anyone has an answer.  Cisco Load Balancers do have sftp installed and, in fact, use of sftp is the only way to back up all the context and certificates.  Basically the command sequence is as follows:

  1. Login.  Typically the login goes right to enable mode just like a Nexus device
  2. enter "backup all"....This creates a file called all that has all the context configs and all the certificates
  3. enter "copy backup-all sftp:[Some unique name]
  4. You will then be prompted for the IP address of the sftp server.  Enter it
  5. You will then be prompted for the login name of the sftp server.  Enter it
  6. You will then be prompted for the password of the sftp server.  Enter it.
  7. The copy process will take place to the sftp server.  On the sftp server there should be a file with the unique label from step 3.

Now having said this, it would be nice if there was a way to automate this by using the execute scripts in NCM.  Unfortunately, I don't know how to do this with the prompt sequence.  It would need to have some "enter - expect" capability kind of like happens with the logon sequence for devices in NCM or TCL/Tk for UNIX.  So if anyone out there is Solarwinds NCM product marketing/development/support knows a way to do this, please let me know
