I apologize … I guess I missed the fact that the download succeeded since I was concentrating on the fact that NCM sent the username twice which caused “% Bad IP address or host name” error to be generated. At least from my perspective NCM is still less than ideal because NCM should not send the username twice and cause “% Bad IP address or host name” error to be generated. This really needs to be fixed. Our custom/bespoke software downloads configs from Cisco routers with same banner and does not generate error messages. We prefer that NCM not cause devices to generate error messages.
Current workaround: we copied and renamed template Cisco IOS-1.3.6.1.4.1.9.ConfigMgmt-Commands, and then added the following commands to the new template:
<Command Name="MenuBased" Value="false"/>
<Command Name="VirtualPrompt" Value="#"/>
