I would expect the following would be required:
- IP address matching that of the failed device (or a 'build' IP that SolarWinds can route to)
- Interface configured correctly to allow traffic from the desired poller (vlan/ip/etc)
- User configured on the device that matches that used by your connection profile for the device/device type
- Required protocol enabled (SSH 1/2, SCP, etc)
That should do it.
