First, let me say Craig, thank you for continuing to help me out here. I greatly appreciate it!
Second, the Settings" / "NCM Settings" / "Real Time Change Detection" / "Config Downloads & Notifications is set to last downloaded config.
Your response leads me to believe there might be some confusion here.
So just a recap, as it sits right now:
- Change is detected
- Solarwinds goes in and looks
- My Comparison Criteria tells Solarwinds to ignore commented lines
- Solarwinds reports no change and discards the downloaded config
At some point during this process Solarwinds appears to be writing to the config. What leads me to believe that is because IF i have turned off the comparison criteria, I'll get spammed with real time change notification emails because it's detecting the change when solarwinds writes the config.
Hopefully it all makes sense?
